I have over 10 years of experience working with clients in a private practice setting using the following diverse repertoire of skills and techniques. My goal is to apply the best clinical practice guidelines to help you regain function and reduce pain. Let's create a treatment plan you love.

Mobilization involves gently and rhythmically moving the articulating surfaces involved in a joint complex to increase range of motion and decrease pain.

Chiropractic manipulation therapy, also known as an adjustment, is a safe, gentle and painless technique. Carefully controlled pressure is applied to a joint to encourage better movement. An adjustment removes interference from the nervous system that contributes to restricted movement, pain and muscle tightness. Adjustments can be done to any joint in your body, not only your spinal joints.

Active Release Technique is a patented soft tissue therapy technique that involves shortening muscle tissue, applying manual pressure along the direction of the muscle fibers then actively lengthening the tissue. It is used to reduce soft tissue restrictions causing pain or reduced mobility with the ultimate goal of breaking down scar tissue. Other names for similar treatments include: deep tissue massage and myofascial release. Patients label this the “hurts good” therapy.

Adhesion Breakers are stainless steel tools used to create localized pressure and friction where scar tissue has formed. They stimulate a local inflammatory response, which triggers the body to replace damaged tissue with healthy tissue. The area being treated is warmed up to make the scar tissue more pliable. A hypoallergenic emollient cream is put on your skin and the Adhesion Breaker tool is rubbed both parallel and perpendicular to the scar tissue under your skin to break up disorganized tissue, increase circulation and redirect collagen formation in the proper orientation to promote proper muscle function. Other names include, Graston, Instrument Assisted Soft tissue Therapy and Gua Sha.

This technique involves putting a sticky, stretchy tape on your skin. It is thought to work in several ways, including increasing microcirculation in the underlying tissues to reduce swelling and bruising. It is also thought to improve how layered tissues such as muscles, slide and glide past one another under the tape.  Lastly, it can be applied to alter proprioception, meaning how your brain perceives the position of joints and muscles in relation to one another to improve your posture.

A Thumper is a hand-held percussive massage tool.  It is generally used on large muscle groups in the back, hips and legs to stimulate blood flow to muscle and fascia tissue. The device has massage spheres that create a percussive effect. The Thumper feels great, relieves muscle fatigue and tension, is used over your clothes and does not involve creams or lotions.
